What happens to a dream deferred?
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore— And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over— like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
— Langston Hughes, 1951
You might know this poem from the Nike commercials shown during the Olympics. These are words I...

Filmwise
Now that I’m taking this breather from school, I’ve not so much rediscovered my excitement over movies as much as I’ve been granted with more opportunity to feed that excitement. A few movies I’m anticipating:
1. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button— I saw the trailer a while back and I really like the feel they went for. The title was so familiar to me, I Googled it...
In a Fickle.
What I’m sure about, I’m not sure how to attain.
What I need to be sure about… I absolutely have no clue.

Fierce
We (sort of) share a name and, one day, I hope we will share success.
Cathie Black, president of Heart Magazines. I’m going to put her book on my reading list and when someone asks me what exactly I mean to do in publishing, I won’t be dumbstruck.

I think a lot of people can relate to feeling so helpless fighting the health megacorporations.
When it comes to...

Piece of Croc! →
Gah. A company that is using the fact that people are split on whether they love or hate their product as a marketing ploy. Yes, Crocs creators want to know if you “Love ‘Em or Hate ‘Em” and there’s a contest for a free trip and possible ad spot. LCC— go flex some video skills!
And what’s my take?
HATE ‘EM. With a passion. I don’t care if...
Degree of Expectation
I know it’s been a week, but I finally looked at my Degree Progress Report.
Now I’m officially done with my undergraduate career, and the pressure seems ready to hit me over the head…
You’d think I’d have this overwhelming rush of emotions, thoughts, and plans. I do, and I don’t. For now, I want to walk through and feel blank.

Angsty
I’m angsty and emotional, and I want to vent but I think my confidants are tired of hearing me whine. I shouldn’t be unhappy— so why am I so unhappy? I think I’m tired of hearing myself complain.
But I don’t understand why people treat me like I’m not entitled to how I feel. I can’t control it. I’m tired of being that person. I just want to know...
