Thanks Evan Shulman. (Notice I can’t link to his blog, because he doesn’t have one himself.)
P.S. I have a Wordpress I barely write in that has a billion drafts waiting to be finished, haha. I keep wanting to transfer everything to be housed under a different place.
In case you’ve been living under a rock the past decade, the Neo-Nazi factions of the U.S. are growing stronger and more organized. I swear a similar incident was reported in Riverside just last month.
In any case, I don’t agree with violent confrontation. But the fact that Neo-Nazis are strengthening is quite chilling.
“On August 24, 2009, Janet Liang was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (bi-phenotypic) while finishing her bachelor’s degree as an International Development Studies major and Education minor. A loving and dedicated friend to many who know her at UCLA and Amador Valley High, she was a healthy, hardworking, and extremely passionate student who fell victim to this blood cancer at only 22-years old.
Janet wants to be able to fulfill her dreams of becoming a full-time teacher. She is deeply committed to addressing social justice issues in multicultural education and bridging the educational achievement gap transparent in today’s schools.
[…] But now, she is in dire need of YOUR help to save her life and other patients as well.”
I don’t know Janet personally, but she’s a near and dear friend to so many people I have been close with or gotten to work with at UCLA, and have only heard amazing things about her passions and what she’s done at the university.
Click on the link to find out how you can help Janet and also spread awareness on the importance of bone marrow registry (ESPECIALLY in the API community)!

I used to be so jealous of Hugh Downs… because he was Babs’ right-hand man on 20/20.
That is a crazy video!
- Dad: So what kinds of clients and brands do you work with? Give me an idea.
- Me: Well, right now we're doing a campaign with Sephora.
- Dad: Oh... Sephora! That's a very big brand.
- Me: Yeah, it's pretty big-- you know it?
- Dad: Of course I know Sephora. I like that brand a lot.
- Me: Yeah, it's pretty nice.
- Dad: Do you ever get to try the products?
- Me: I guess, sometimes they send samples.
- Dad: Ah that's good... Sephora is one of the best tasting beers in the world.
- Me: What? Oh no... not Sapporo, dad. Sephora. It's a beauty and makeup store.
- Dad: Oh, I don't know that one.
At first I thought this had to be satire. But no. It’s not. Can we please get on writing angry letters to the telegraph? Don’t even look at the comments. Don’t even look.
oh gawd. i couldn’t get through the first paragraph without squirming.
Ugh, that article was pure drivel. I really thought it was satire as well, what with gems like this:
“It’s no coincidence that the best countries in the world are either European or founded by Europeans. Everywhere they go, European immigrants make things better – until they’re asked to leave, at which point everything usually descends back into chaos. Not that they ever get any thanks for it.”
Don’t read the comments section. Just don’t.
