Student: How do you spell six pack?
Me: S-I-X P-A-C-K. Why?

Reblogged: Student Dialogue of the Day
Student A: You seem lovely.
Student B: What makes you think so?
Student A: Well, because you look like a platypus.

Has Science Explained Life After Death? →
No, not entirely. But it’s an attractive header, yes? Anyway, how insane would it be to have a combination near-death experience and out-of-body experience? YIKES! Is it really just REM gone haywire? Or is there some unfathomable explanation that contemporary scientists can’t pinpoint? All I know is that is some trippy stuff.

Overshare Alert: Sore Feelings and the Battle of...
Okay. So, the three of you who read this blog may have noticed that I haven’t made a real post since I departed from America. And yes, there are a lot of feelings and experiences and challenges I should probably start chronicling before I pass this phase of being a newbie Native English Teacher. But let’s be real. You can read about that stuff on any other Koren expat’s blog,...

Two Door Cinema Club on Hype Machine →
I was somewhat getting more into Two Door Cinema Club back at home, then the internet was taken away from me. Anyway, there’s a link to their Hype Machine page if you want to check out what I’ve been listening to as of late. I don’t know if they’re old or new. I probably heard about them from Paul or Donna… they usually update their Hype Machines and have discerning...

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.”
– T.S. Eliot (via myradventures) So if you haven’t gathered from my status updates, I’m in Incheon, South Korea gearing up to teach middle school brats kids some English. ;] I haven’t had much time to upload photos or even take photos for that matter— just trying to let the...

Safari in Los Angeles, in a home in MacArthur Park →
This is such a travesty to what journalism is/was and could still be. Quirkiness and snark have their space, but there’s an inherent lack of connecting the deeper layers of what they are observing in their blog. It’s so disgusting they treat living with an immigrant family in LA like an episode of animal behavior on some National Geographic show, or just another way to trump the famed...

Obama orders hospital visit rights for gays,... →
Long overdue, love that he’s taken this stance. Read the article for more details on his memo… hope the hospitals will follow suit. amandalynferri: This is a cool attitude.
